Anarchists certainly rattle local Politicians on little old Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada.
It is election time on PEI, and my son is already hard at the task of rattling the political candidates today. My son is so funny, free thinking, and outside the box…. Wonder where he gets that from?
Let me summarize the context and conversation I just overheard from my office, before I could get to the door.
Pat Murphy is the fine gentleman running for the Liberals in our riding, and is in the middle of canvassing, he just rang our doorbell and introduced himself to my son Ben.
Pat explained who he was, what he was doing, and wanted to hear my sons thoughts on the upcoming election, and whether Ben had any questions concerning the election.
I kid you not, this is what my 24 year old son said…..
“You have a typical anarchist here (referring to himself), but I will read over the information you gave me.”
Pat thanked my son for his time and moved on for what will be a very busy day.
Sorry about that Pat. Have courage, chin-up, because all the door to door visits are going to be easy-peasy after this one, if slightly less entertaining. 🙂 We hope you don’t run into many more “anarchists” today. One of those is enough.
But from time to time you find those honest-to-goodness people… and this is the only thing that gives me courage to exercise my voice through my right, and privilege, to vote.I will vote, even if I care little for any of the candidates positions, which has been the case in the past. Fellow Islanders, from each family have died for my right, for my freedom to have an honest election, and a free vote. Therefore, I will cast my ballot. I work among too many voiceless West African people, people who have never held a pencil, let alone put an “x” on a ballot, in their lives. Pat, we “anarchists” are pretty mild mannered on PEI. 😉
Thank you to all the candidates in our area. Thank you for doing what you do. Thank you for giving us the voices, and the choices we can make through your representation.
