I had to pick up my car. Therefore, I needed to find someone willing to drive my truck back home for me. So, I invited my mom and dad along for the ride to provided the needed assistance.
We had great conversations as we drove along, but one was unusually hilarious…
“How is Lynn getting along these days, is she feeling better?” my mother asked (some minor health things she was having looked into)
“She is feeling much better.” I replied.
How is she getting along with her weight?” she inquired
I don’t know” I said offhandedly.
“What do you mean you don’t know? You do talk to her don’t you? She is your wife after all.”
“Mom, I know better than to ask a woman a question like that.”
“But she is your wife, it is OK to talk about these things.”
“We talk all the time, about everything, you know that mom.”
Well, why don’t you know about her weight then?
“Mom, the real reason I do not ask Lynn about her weight is because I am afraid she will ask me about mine.”
My mom and dad both took into hysterical laughter over my comment.
It was a good day… I shall put on the invisible humanitarian magic cape an disappear rapidly, if I ever decide to ask such things 🙂
