Absorbing A Little Awe In The Forest

“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” Friedrich Nietzsche

Went to the woods to hear the music this afternoon.
Hauled out the snowshoes  and headed three kilometres straight into the woods behind my house, breaking open a new trail in the process.

I was awed……

“The Secret of every being is the Divine care and concern that are invested in it. Something sacred is at stake in every event.
Awe is an intuition for the creaturely Dignity of all things and their preciousness to God; a realization that things not only are what they are but also stand, however remotely, for something absolute.”
(Abraham Joshua Heschel. God In Search Of Man)

Stopped on the way back to make peach apricot tea, and snack on the hard boiled eggs I made at breakfast, as well as trail mix that had a healthy dose of my very own dehydrated Prince Edward Island  lowbush blueberries.

Looking around, reading a little as i sip my tea.  I wish life was this simple all the time. Maybe  I should begin to offer spiritual guided day hikes or snowshoe trips to others.

“I should like to live here always. It is so calm and withdrawn while open to the universe in full communion with everything good.” (John Muir. My First Summer In The Sierras)
